October 2005
Car Assembly - In September, volunteers were hard at work assembling battery powered cars to be used in teaching traffic safety.The Mohawk students photograph shows students (L to R) Andy Smith, Derek Campbell, and Paul Worthington helping the Safety Village by assembling some of the newly arrived cars.


In the Police and Kiwanis photograph, shown taking a much needed break are (L to R) Inspector Scott Easto, Kiwanian Orval Parsons, Deputy Chief Jeff Kellner, and Kiwanians Larry Sawkins, Marv Williams, and Al Bennett.
Bikes & Jeeps

Bikes from Sport Chek and battery powered Jeeps are assembled and stored securely in the Kiwanis building.
Nearing Completion

Brantford city Traffic Department tackle the installation of the traffic lights in the village while the finishing touches are added to the playground equipment.

Building a Safe Village
Bob MacLean (left), president of the Children's Safety Village of Brantford; Mike Stefanelli, job superintendent; Doug Baker, dean of the Brantford campus of Mohawk College; and 'Bob Flucker, project manager, watch as the forms for pouring the foundation ­of the Village's education centre are prepared. When completed, the village will replicate streets, intersections, traffic lights and railway crossings so children four to 12 years old can be taught pedestrian, bicycle, driving and fire safety.
