Halloween in the Village, held October 23, 2010, was a huge success with over 1,400 people attending this annual event. Giant Tiger, who is our major sponsor, donated $1,500 to help offset the cost of putting on this event in conjunction with the Village’s 5th year of operation. As well, Giant Tiger donated staff and their GT mascot to attend and hand out candy and frisbees to all the costumed kids. A great time was had by all and Giant Tiger has indicated that they had so much fun, they want to come back and do it all again next year, and the year after, and hopefully the year after that too….THANKS GIANT TIGER ~ from the Safety Village and all the kids who enjoyed this fun filled day! |

Many people are unaware that the leading cause of death for Canadians aged 1 to 44 is injury, both unintentional (falls, car crashes, poisoning, drowning, fires) and intentional (such as suicide and violence). Injuries kill more young Canadians than any other disease or illness. In fact, injury takes the lives of more Canadian teenagers than all other causes of death combined.Dr. Robert Conn, SmartRisk 4 December 2002 |
