We are excited to welcome Trisha Meili a.k.a. "Central Park Jogger." as our keynote speaker (www.centralparkjogger.com) Her story definitely relates to safety and that ties in with what the CSV is all about - starting to educate young children at an early age regarding their personal safety. Trisha will be sharing the lessons she learned during her healing, finding resilience (ability to come back), she offers lessons on facing challenges and the importance of being able to reach out for support.Trisha will highlight the power of the present moment and deliver the message of being proud of what you can do - it builds and boosts your level of self esteem. Like I said we are thrilled to be able to bring Trisha to our fundraising event as the key note speaker. We are not limiting this event to Brantford only registrants and will be marketing this event outside of our area as we believe all women/men deserve to hear not only Trisha's message but all the "Inspiring Women" we have secured as speakers.

Joan is writing her first book and is now travelling all across the province setting up weight loss support networks and writing articles for fitness magazines!
  • Shelley Tudin (Kormos) - Shelley was born with a physical disability known to many as a form of Muscular Dystrophy. Shelley has overcome an abundance of obstacles both professionally and personally. She has written her first book "You're too cute to be disabled," and is an absolutely, amazing artist. She is an inspiring and determined young woman. Shelley will be doing a book signing the day of.
  • Jennifer Corsini - Jennifer lives in Norfolk County and 3 years ago she faced a horrific act of domestic violence. She was basically left for dead. Jennifer was in a coma state and on life support for approximately two weeks following the brutal attack. Through her husbands stabbings she lost 5 litres of blood. Jennifer will live with the scars forever but, she is determined to reach out and help others by sharing her story. She has recently completed a documentary that will be put on display at various events and will travel to women shelters across the province.
  • Lynn Knowles - Lynn is from Toronto area, originally from South Africa. Lynn has been doing psychic, intuitive readings for her customers who are based across Ontario. Lynn continues to be motivated by her desire to do her part in encouraging others to achieve their dreams and create a better world. Lynn will be our final speaker so she can sum up the previous speakers and ensure the participants that the universe does indeed work with us and for us and not against us.

Many people are unaware that the leading cause of death for Canadians aged 1 to 44 is injury, both unintentional (falls, car crashes, poisoning, drowning, fires) and intentional (such as suicide and violence). Injuries kill more young Canadians than any other disease or illness. In fact, injury takes the lives of more Canadian teenagers than all other causes of death combined.
